Big things are happening at Levven, and we couldn’t be more excited to share the news!
On February 12, Minister Terry Duguid announced a federal investment of over $6.7 million through PrairiesCan to accelerate business growth in Edmonton. As part of this initiative, Levven is receiving up to $1.257 million to enhance our manufacturing capacity, expand our product line, and build out a national sales and marketing team. This investment is a game-changer for us and the future of homebuilding in Canada.
What This Funding Means for Levven
At Levven, we believe that homes should be more affordable, sustainable, and easier to build. Our Switched Right technology eliminates the need for traditional wiring in light switches, reducing the copper wiring needed to build a home and cutting labour time.
With this funding, we can scale our operations to bring our solutions to more builders, homeowners, and communities across Canada.
The PrarieCan investment empowers us to take bold steps forward, allowing us to:
- Boost production: Demand for our technology is growing, and this investment will help us ramp up manufacturing to meet it.
- Expand our product line: We’re constantly innovating, and with these additional resources, we can develop even more solutions to improve how homes are built.
- Reach more builders nationwide: A bigger sales and marketing team means we can connect with more builders, homeowners, and industry leaders across Canada.
- Creating jobs right here in Edmonton: This investment supports high-quality, skilled jobs in advanced manufacturing and technology, strengthening the local economy.
At Levven, we don’t just see growth as an internal win; it’s a win for the entire homebuilding industry. The more we innovate, the more we can help builders streamline their processes and make sustainable homes the standard, not the exception.
Edmonton is a Hidden Gem for Tech and Manufacturing
Edmonton has always been a powerhouse of innovation and advanced manufacturing, but it doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. This investment highlights our city’s role in shaping Canada’s future.
As Minister Randy Boissonnault put it, “Edmonton is a global leader in innovation, pioneering new products and services across multiple industries.” We couldn’t agree more.
Levven’s CEO, James Keirstead, echoed this sentiment: “I’m proud to see PrairiesCan investing in advanced manufacturing and innovation to strengthen our economy. At Levven, we believe that by modernizing how homes are built, we can make them more affordable, personal, and sustainable. Exciting to be part of a growing movement shaping the future of housing and manufacturing in Canada!”
This investment doesn’t just benefit Levven; it strengthens Edmonton’s position as a hub for cutting-edge technology and high-quality jobs. It supports local talent, attracts further investment, and ensures that Edmonton continues to lead in the tech and manufacturing sectors.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Minister Terry Duguid, Prairies Economic Development Canada, and Minister Randy Boissonnault for recognizing and supporting the potential of Edmonton’s manufacturing sector.
