General Troubleshooting

Controller LED Colors

The controller's LED shows its current state:

  • Solid Green: Controller is on. Load is off.
  • Solid Red: Controller is on. Load is on.
  • Blinking Green: In grouping/pairing mode. Waiting to pair or group.
  • Blinking Red/Green: Received pairing/grouping signal. Waiting to confirm.
  • Rapid Green Flash Followed by Solid Green: Pairing or grouping was successful.
  • Flashing Red/Green/Yellow: Failed firmware update. Please contact Levven Support.

Switch Only Turns On One Controller

To control multiple grouped controllers with a single switch, you must pair the switch to each controller individually.

For example, if you have one switch and two controllers, please group the controllers and then complete the pairing process twice—once with the first controller and again with the second.

Resetting a Controller

Controllers can be reset to a factory default state.

Resetting the controller's pairing list clears the list of switches that the controller was paired with. This is useful when you want the controller to stop responding to its original switch and start listening to a different switch.

Factory resetting the controller will clear its pairings, group, and any other settings. This is necessary if you want to take the controller from one installation and use it in a different house.

Video Guide

Reset Switch Pairings

To remove all switch pairings from a controller:

  1. Press and hold controller's button for five seconds.
  2. The controller's LED will flash RED three times after five seconds. The flashing LED indicates that the switch pairing has been reset.
  3. Let go of the button.

Factory Reset (Clear All Pairing, Group, and Other Settings Data)

Factory resetting the controller will return it to its default settings and clear all pairings and groupings.

  1. Press and hold controller's button for ten seconds.
  2. At five seconds, the LED will flash RED three times. Keep holding the button.
  3. After 10 seconds, the LED will flash RED ten times to signal that the controller's memory has been fully reset. You may release the button.

Dimmer Troubleshooting

Light Fixture Flickers

First, check that the fixture and its bulbs are rated as "dimmable".

If the flickering occurs at full brightness:

  • The fixture or bulb may be burning out.

If the flickering occurs at some (but not all) brightness levels:

  • Adjust the dimmer's min/max settings.

Set the Dimmer Maximum Brightness Level

  1.  Use the switch brighten to the maximum desired level.
    1. If the light flickers, press and hold the down/off button on the switch to dim until flickering stops.
  2. Double-click the GPDT15 controller’s button to set the maximum brightness.
  3.  The controller’s LED will flash green to confirm.

Set the Dimmer Minimum Brightness Level

  1. Use the switch to dim to the minimum desired level.
    1. If the light flickers, press and hold the up/on button on the switch until it stops flickering.
  2. Double-click the GPDT15 controller’s button to set the minimum brightness.
  3.  The controller’s LED will flash green to confirm.

Reset the Dimmer's Min/Max Brightness to Factory Settings

  1. Triple-click the GPDT15 controller’s button.
  2. This resets the min/max brightness settings. The controller's pairing and group data will remain.

Switch Troubleshooting

What does the switch's LED mean?

  • Flashes when pressed: Switch is paired.
  • No flash: Switch may need to be paired or added to the home group.
  • Flashing many times when pressed: Switch battery is getting low.

My Switch Does Not Work

  1. Check the switch's LED:
    • No flashing LED: Switch may need to be paired to the controller
    • Rapid flashing LED after switch press: Battery is low. Change the battery.
  2. Check the switch pairing:
    1. Re-pair the switch to desired controller.
    2. Move switch closer to controller and repeat previous step.
    3. If you have a Levven Q gateway:
      1. Open the Levven app.
      2. Go to "More" > "System Configuration" > select your Q gateway > select "Switches".
      3. Press the wall switch. If it doesn’t highlight in the app, try re-pairing it.
    4. Pair the switch with a different controller. If the switch works with the new controller, the original controller is faulty.
    5. Pair a different switch with the desired controller. If a new switch works with the controller, the original switch is faulty.

Switch Only Turns On One Controller

To control multiple grouped controllers with a single switch, you must pair the switch to each controller individually.

For example, if you have one switch and two controllers, group the controllers together first, then complete the pairing process twice—once with the first controller and again with the second.

How to Clean the Switch

  • Use a damp cloth and wipe over the switch until dirt is removed
  • AVOID using solvent cleaners, spray cleaners, or excessive water

* Switches are not waterproof and may be damaged, voiding the warranty.

Replacing the Battery

  1. Gently pry the top of the switch using a wood toothpick (avoid metal tools to prevent circuit board damage).
  2. Remove the old battery and insert the new one.
  3. Snap the switch rocker back onto the switch.
